Wes Bergmann is an active businessman in Hope, BC, who has an eye for opportunity. When he saw no shops open on an evening drive through his hometown, Wes knew something could and needed to be done.

So did staff at Envision’s Hope branch, who shared Wes’s vision for a reinvigorated downtown. A small-business start-up loan from Envision four years ago enabled Wes to open the Blue Moose Coffee House.

Today, local blues musicians regularly work a little magic on a steady stream of appreciative clientele. And downtown Hope has received a much-needed boost to its transitioning resource-based economy that has helped it attract other new businesses.

“The credit union has been very good,” comments Wes of his long-term relationship with Envision. “The nice thing about Envision is that they still have a community spirit about them.”
